For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10 KJV)
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; (Psalms 63:1 KJV)
Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. (Mark 10:28 KJV)
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: (Psalms 63:5 KJV)
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. (Titus 2:11-14 KJV)
Are you to the point of being able say, "O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you"(Psalm 63:1)? And then can you say to Him, "I love you, Lord, with ALL my heart, with ALL my soul, with ALL_my mind, and with ALL my strength"? If these things are true, can you follow the Lord in absolute surrender and become a living sacrifice, echoing the disciples' declaration, "Éwe have left everything and followed you" (Mark 10:28)?
We will never be able to love Him perfectly this side of heaven, but if we grow more and more in our love for Him, something will happen at the very core of our being. We are already one with Him in Christ, but we will be one with Him experientially.
As we grow in our love for Him and in our understanding of His love for us, we will desire to follow Him more. We will experience His will becoming our will, His heart becoming our heart, and His thoughts becoming our thoughts. And we won't be walking it alone; we will walk it with the heart of our Savior's knit to ours in perfect oneness. Our very being will resonate with this song! "My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips" (Psalm 63:5 ESV). Our deepest longings will be satisfied, our greatest needs met, and the aching void within filled to overflowing. For we will be walking in the very path laid for us before the foundation of the world.
With these things in mind, read Titus 2:11-14. Why did Jesus give Himself for us? Think for a moment and allow God to give you a glimpse of how He has been forming and shaping you since you were born to create a unique vessel of love and grace to accomplish His wonderful purposes.
Take these truths to heart and allow the Lord to bring them to life.
